The What: The 5th Annual CIFE Industrialized Construction Forum 2019 will take place on February 21st, 2019 at Stanford University in California. This year’s theme is “Learning from a Global Movement” and the Forum continues to spread as a movement across the globe. Hosted by Stanford University’s Center for Integrated Facility Engineering, the Forum has convened leaders and innovators of ongoing IC movements in the UK, Sweden, Hong Kong, Switzerland and Mexico. The discussion will continue with new ideas and entrepreneurial ventures to be applied in North America.
CIFE – The Center for Integrated Facility Engineering – is a research center at Stanford University, working on issues relevant to the Architecture – Engineering – Construction industry. The CIFE mission is to be the world’s premier academic research center for Virtual Design and Construction of Architecture – Engineering – Construction (AEC) industry projects.
Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) is the use of multi-disciplinary performance models of design-construction projects, including the Product (i.e., facilities), Work Processes and Organization of the design – construction – operation team in order to support business objectives.
