The What: The AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) Hackathon was created to give those designing, building, and maintaining our built environment the opportunity to collaborate with cutting edge technologies and its developers and designers. The 40th AEC Hackathon is a weekend of geeking at its finest for improving the industries that affect all that live or work in a house or building. It has quickly become a global community of innovators that include all elements of the built environment.
The weekend gives attendees the chance to be exposed to and work with the latest high tech tools provided by supporters, sponsors, and fellow community members. Not all built environment professionals have to code or have much background with tech. Just come with your knowledge, an open mind, collaborative spirit, and willinginess to solve Mon-Fri problems leveraging all kinds of technology.
Ever since the first event, each hackathon is initiated and supported by a local from the AEC and or tech communities. Now the AEC Hackathon community helps these locals make the event happen with support provided by both local and community sponsors. The When: Friday – Sunday, February 22nd 6:00 pm – 24th 6:00 pm, 2019.
The Where: Silicon Valley, California. Exact location to be determined.
The Who: AEC Professionals including Facility Managers, GIS Specialists, Public Utilities, and everyone that deals with the built environment. Come with the problems you want to solve. Tech Developers including tech ninjas, game programmers, and rebels that code. Come hack with new hardware and tech all in the name of doing something crazy and fantastic, and helpful. UI/UX Designers who can help make everything look beautiful, work intuitively, and create a stellar user experience. Great applications require great design.

The Details: Teams will be formed and goals will be defined on Friday night. The Hackathon will kickoff on Saturday morning alongside AEC and Tech Presentations throughout the day. Hackathon team presentations and judging to occur on Sunday afternoon.
