If you don’t have time to attend lectures, symposiums, and conferences to stay up-to-date, there are plenty of online resources that provide current information on green building products and sustainable design via online libraries. The Sustainable Building Advisor Program has a new SBA Video Library featuring presentations on sustainability and design matters given by SBA instructors and guest lecturers. It also offers weekly instructional webinars that feature green building luminaires discussing up-to-the-minute topics. Sign up here to receive additional information.
The Sustainable Building Advisor Program has been providing sustainable building training for professionals in green building strategy since 2005, before LEED accreditation was launched. Classes are taught by local and experienced professionals and more than 1000 students in the US and Canada have graduated from the SBA program to become Certified Sustainable Building Advisors (CSBA). The Program’s new Academic Chair is Ms. Ann Edminster while Ms. Raphaelle Hallaj will serve as the new head instructor for the SBA San Francisco program. Guest instructors in San Francisco include Mr. Peter Rumsey, P.E., Managing Director and Chief Technology Officer of Integral Group, Ms. Kirsten Ritchie, Director of Sustainable Design at Gensler, and Mr. Ryan Stroupe, Building Performance Program Coordinator at the Pacific Energy Center.
The three-month program is offered three times a year (spring, summer, and fall) and is offered in Canada and in the following US cities: Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, and Seattle. The next SBA Program session starts on Friday, January 24th, 2014 and the next San Francisco open house hours are Friday, January 17th, 4:00 – 6:00 pm and Wednesday, January 22, 2:00 – 4:00 pm. SBA can assist students with payment plans, letters to employees, and other options that can facilitate enrollment and payment.
