About the event

The Ninth International Conference on Energy Research and Development (ICERD-9) convenes researchers, engineers, and industry leaders to optimize energy resource utilization across major consuming sectors in arid environments. Held under the patronage of the Crown Prince of Kuwait and aligned with Kuwait Vision 2035, the technical program features peer-reviewed paper presentations, keynote lectures, panel discussions on sustainable energy deployment, and an exhibition of regional innovations. Key topics span building retrofits, air-conditioning and refrigeration, renewable technologies, hydrogen systems, energy storage, and thermodynamic optimization, offering direct technical insights for high-performance built environments.

What you’ll learn

  • Optimize the utilization of basic energy resources in major energy-consuming sectors in arid regions of the Arabian Peninsula.
  • Explore how retrofitting, retro-commissioning, and modern building practices improve building performance, efficiency, and resilience.
  • Evaluate innovation, technology dimensions, and implementation strategies for developing a sustainable hydrogen ecosystem.
  • Examine how the European Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan) coordinates cross-border research, innovation, and deployment across clean energy systems.
