This WoodWorks regional online seminar addresses fire-resistant wood design and detailing for wood-frame buildings. Led by Jessica Scarlett, the session focuses on interior fire-rated assemblies, including firewalls, fire barriers, and fire partitions. Participants will examine methods for determining fire-resistance ratings, allowable uses of wood framing, and techniques for preserving rating continuity at structural intersections. The technical presentation also covers requirements for horizontal assemblies, allowable penetrations, and individual encasement of beams and columns, providing design professionals with practical strategies for code compliance.
