Fire-Resistant Wood Design and Detailing

About the event

This regional online seminar provides building professionals with technical guidance on code-compliant, constructible detailing for fire-resistant wood construction. Structural engineer Jason Bahr examines interior fire-rated assemblies, focusing directly on firewalls, fire barriers, and fire partitions. Participants will review methods for calculating fire-resistance ratings, structural stability, and continuity at the intersections where structural systems meet fire protection assemblies. Additional course topics address horizontal assemblies, individual encasement requirements for structural beams and columns, allowable framing applications, and code-approved penetrations to support resilient, code-conforming wood design.
