This regional in-person tour explores the all-mass timber South San Francisco Wellness Center, offering an inside perspective on applying timber systems within healthcare environments. Guided by a licensed structural engineer from WoodWorks, participants will examine glue-laminated timber columns and beams alongside cross-laminated timber floor plates. The walk-through highlights detailing, fire resistance, structural capacity, and construction techniques across spaces dedicated to medical offices and community wellness. Attendees will gain practical knowledge regarding material selection, biophilic design, and multi-disciplinary coordination spanning owners, design teams, and fabricators.
