Building Simulation 2017

Building Simulation 2017 will take place on August 7th – 9th in San Francisco, California, U.S. This biennial meeting of the International Building Performance Simulation Association is the premier opportunity for researchers, simulation practitioners, and building industry professionals from around the world to meet and share information about exciting developments in the field of building performance simulation and advanced building systems. Sessions cover both research and advanced practice in the areas of energy simulation, airflow and natural ventilation, thermal comfort, lighting and daylighting, acoustics, and more.

Keynote speakers include Anica Landreneau, Principal and Global Sustainable Design Director of HOK and Paul Linden, G.I. Taylor Professor Emeritus of Fluid Mechanics and Director of Research in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at the University of Cambridge and is also the Blasker Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Environmental Science and Engineering, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, UC San Diego.

There will be a student modeling competition aimed to facilitate wider participation in the conference and to provide a competitive forum for student members of the building simulation community. This year’s competition involves using computer simulation to design and test a laboratory building with mixed uses including labs, offices and classroom spaces located in downtown San Francisco, CA.
