Healthy Net Zero: Focus on Materials

Build It Green’s free workshop on Healthy Net Zero:  Focus on Materials will take place on October 24 in Oakland, California.  The training will provide participants with knowledge of health and safety concerns in building materials with a particular focus on high performance and net zero energy strategies.  Participants will be able to identify some of the major hazards found in the built environment and learn how to research safer alternatives.  Architect Cate Leger from Leger Wanaselja Architecture and Melanie Loftus from Healthy Building Science will speaking on the following topics:

• The state of knowledge on health safety of building materials today.
• The chemicals of most concern and where are they found in building materials.
• How to find information on the chemical content of building materials.
• Suppliers and strategies for creating safer high performance buildings.
