The 12th Edition Green Building Congress 2014 will take place on September 4 – 6 in Hyderabad, India. It is the flagship event of the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) which was formed in 2001 with a vision “to usher in a green building movement in the country and to facilitate India become one of the world leaders in green buildings by 2015.” The Council’s activities have enabled a market transformation with regard to green building concepts, materials and technologies. In 2001 there was 20,000 square foot of green footprint in the country and now there are over 2,007 green buildings with a footprint of over 1.4 billion square foot throughout India.
