The Passive House: Building a “Renewable Ready” California webinar will take place on May 12th at 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. PST. This free webinar will discuss the cost‐optimized, high‐performance homes that meet the “Passive House standard” and how this can be achieved throughout California with minimal additional effort and cost. Attention will be paid to the economies of scale and construction cost reductions available in multi-family Passive House buildings.
As California moves toward sustainability, renewable energy is recognized as a vital component. There is less awareness, however, that renewables are inadequate and impractical without accompanying efficiency increases. Passive House buildings are an ideal and necessary compliment to a sustainable energy grid, offering both energy consumption and peak.
The speaker will be Graham Irwin, Principal of Essential Habitat, a Northern California based design and consulting firm focused on healthy, high performance, sustainable buildings built to the Passive House standard.
