Net Positive Symposium Atlanta 2018 will take place on October 18th, 2018 in Atlanta, Georgia, US. The symposium will focus on the success stories of pioneering Living Building Challenge project teams as they pursue the world’s most rigorous green building standard in this hot and humid climate.
Achieving Living Buildings in the subtropics calls for inspired, regionally-appropriate design and engineering. Project team members from Georgia Tech’s own Kendeda Building and Alabama’s Gulf State Park Interpretive Center will be on hand to highlight unique net positive water and net positive energy solutions.
Leading equity and outreach experts will speak to the lasting, positive impacts of Living Buildings, and provide case studies of how they have employed the Living Building Challenge to inform culture, social justice and environmental education in communities throughout the region.
This symposium is for design and construction professionals, sustainability directors, faculty/educators, students, community organizers, administrators, operations staff, and policy professionals. Net Positive Atlanta will inspire, instruct, and engage—providing attendees with tools, information, lessons and regional partnerships to achieve and leverage Living Buildings in the Subtropical southeast.
