The 18th Annual Frame Australia 2016 Conference & Exhibition will take place on May 23rd in Melbourne, Australia. It is a conference and exhibition on timber building design and construction, and the manufacture of prefabricated timber and engineered wood systems. Timber and wood construction is expanding with current and emerging technologies for prefabricated building systems, and is progressively being applied to low and medium rise residential and commercial construction, to achieve faster building times and lower cost outcomes.
Higher density residential developments are increasing nationally, and changes to the National Construction Code when approved will substantially increase timber building heights and allow designers and builders more opportunities for timber and wood construction.
Prefabricated timber building systems now have more options available, with detached housing in prefabricated form supplied to lock-up stage, timber framed apartment buildings up to 5 storeys, and mass timber including CLT for building up to 10 storeys or more.
Developments in building technology with CAD/CAM and 3D models create an integrated data process through design, supply and construction, and assists automation in prefab manufacturing plants to improve efficiency and produce accurate building components.
Conference topics will provide information for the complete supply chain of building designers, developers, builders, timber producers, prefabricators and suppliers of engineered wood.
