Facades + Performance, the conference on high-performance building enclosures, will take place on April 24 – 25 in New York City, New York. Presented by The Architect’s Newspaper in collaboration with Enclos, it is the seventh event in an ongoing series of conferences that have unfolded in cities across the United States. Each year’s event is designed to address a new theme, this year’s is Performance. In an era where climate change and global warming is directly transforming the urban planning of our cities, architects are faced with the challenging task of designing buildings that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also environmentally sustainable. The conference, symposium, and workshops will trace the history and evolution of facade design over the past five years, answer questions about the performance, delivery and maintenance of sustainably built facades, and propose innovative design solutions to the dynamically changing environmental conditions we face today. Presenters will include Gordon Gill of AS+GG, Joshua Prince-Ramus of REX, Ana Bertuna of Related, Doris Sung of dOSu Studio, and many more leading experts.
