Klimahouse will take place on January 23rd – 26th, 2019 in Bolzano, Italy. The trade show’s strategic location in the heart of South Tyrol and Middle Europe provides the perfect meeting point for Italian companies and those of the neighboring countries to exchange ideas, innovations and insights on the latest trends in the energy-efficient and sustainable construction sector. Thanks to a good mix of exhibition offerings presented by more than 450 exhibitors, and a comprehensive information program, that includes congresses, workshops and guided tours to energy-efficient buildings, Klimahouse positions itself as the leading trade show on sustainable construction in Italy.
Featured speakers include: Amanda Sturgeon, CEO of International Living Future Institute, Thomas Rau, Architect of RAU, Gideon Maasland, Architect of MVRDV Rotterdam, Roberto Viazzo, Engineer of Passive House Italia, and many more.
Smart Cities
The CasaClima Agency, in collaboration with the European Academy of Bolzano EURAC, presents an event to draw an initial assessment of the Smart City Sinfonia project. It will start from the experiences of the two cities involved, Bolzano and Innsbruck, to continue with the presentation of the Smart City Stardust Project which involves the city of Trento. The aim of the event is to identify what worked and what can be improved in a complex and ambitious initiative like this and to explain what experiences can be replicated on similar projects in the future. The day will be introduced by one of the leading experts of Smart Cities at the international level, Peter Dröge, Director of the Institute for Strategic Development of Liechtenstein, and will end with a debate with the participation of the Mayors of Trento and Bolzano and the special representative of the city of Innsbruck.
Smart Materials and Smart Buildings
In the field of construction, materials have to be “smart” and innovative to satisfy demands: materials should increase energy efficiency, improve functionality and comfort, contribute to a small ecologic footprint and offer a reasonable price/value relationship.
Traditional materials and construction already obtain most of the characteristics mentioned above. However, new materials lead to improvements when renovating and reconstructing. Visionary Thomas Rau will discuss those topics in depth during his talk. Followed by Amanda Sturgeon, who was elected to be one of the most important women from the field of sustainability in 2015.
The last day of the congress will be dedicated to ground-breaking architecture. President of the energy agency ENEA, Federico Testa, will be present along with Gideon Maasland who will initiate the convention. He is one of the main contributors of an innovative Project: Amsterdam Valley, in the heart of the Dutch city.
Next, Anton Falkeis will report on the various aspects of sustainability and bionic approaches. Christine Lemaitre (DGNB) and Helmut Stifter, both multiple KlimaHaus Award winners, close the circle of international and local best pactice-examples, before concluding the convention with a panel discussion.
